9-month well check

Joey had his 9-month well check appointment this morning and here are his new stats:

Weight: 22 lbs., 14 oz. (75th-90th percentile)
Length: 29" (75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 47.4 (95th percentile) - our little guy has a big brain!!!

Joey did not have any vaccinations this time, but he did get some blood drawn for a standard anemia test. The lab technician pricked a finger and painstakingly collected each little droplet of blood until he got what he needed. While mommy almost passed out watching, Joey was such a brave little man. He didn't cry at all and at one point even smiled at the lab tech. Joey is my hero!

One of Joey's favorite playdate pals is a little girl named Hannah who lives in our neighborhood. At their last playdate, Hannah's mommy took video and pictures of the two cuties. Click here to see the video of Joey trying to win Hannah's affection.

Mmmmmm....spinach!

Joey has recently become a much more active eater. He definitely likes holding his own utensils but unfortunately his aim needs a bit of improvement. He tried spinach for the first time this week and here is the aftermath.

Holiday wrap-up

Whew! A big congratulations to Joey for surviving his first holiday season and getting through it all with a big smile on his face. Our cutie has been a socializing fool over the last couple of weeks and here are the pictures to prove it!

My high school friends Jen and Wendy were both in town for the holidays so we met up for a catch-up lunch.

We also met up with the whole crew from San Antonio at the Grist Mill in Gruene. Even Grandma came along for the trip!

Cousin Sandy and her new husband Klay visited Texas over the holidays and stopped by our house one day to get to know Joey.
