Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing Memorial Day weekend! We had lots of fun chillaxing at home (stayed inside most of the time trying to beat the heat) and hanging out with friends and family.

Joey got a brand new haircut to kick off the weekend. My handsome little guy is all growed up...

On Saturday night we went to visit our friends the McKinneys for a cookout. Here are Joey and Drew getting ready to go splash around in the backyard.

After the water fun, Joey and Jaci tried out the sit and spin together.

And on Sunday, Aunt Katie came to visit Joey - don't they look like they're having lots of fun just cracking each other up? I'll let you in on a little secret...Joey is actually fussing in these pictures, but who can tell?

We're sorry daddy!

Look very closely at these pictures and you'll see that Joey is wearing a headband. I was in the bathroom getting ready today when Joey grabbed one of my headbands and - I swear to you - without any coaching he tried to put it on his head. He got frustrated when he couldn't get it on his head so I decided to help him out. Lo and behold, 15 minutes later, it's still on his head and it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all! If anything, he's probably happy that it's keeping his hair out of his face. We'd like to officially apologize to daddy for once again posting pictures of Joey looking slightly effeminate. But we promise to get Joey's hair cut short enough this week so that mommy will no longer be able to use hair accessories on him for awhile.

A message from Joey

Yes, it's true...we are expecting Baby Magu #2!!! The baby's due date is November 26, the day before Thanksgiving (btw, we are currently accepting bids for our Texas vs. A&M football tickets). We had our 12-week ultrasound today and everything looks normal. We will definitely be finding out the baby's gender - that ultrasound will be in about 2 months - and of course will keep you all posted. We are just so happy about the future addition to our little family and can't wait to meet our little holiday turkey!

Seattle: Wrap-Up

By the fifth day of our visit, we were all pretty much pooped. The mommies managed to squeeze in a trip to the theatre to see Made of Honor (very cute, by the way) and the daddies snuck out later to see Iron Man. And of course while Joey's daddy was out of the house, the ladies conspired and put one of Bella's hairbows on Joey - don't tell me this isn't cute!

On our last day in Seattle, Bella went back to daycare. Here are Bella and Joey saying their goodbyes. Bella looks pretty darn excited and Joey, well, I don't know what he's thinking.

En route to the airport, Wen-Chi took us to Snoqualmie Falls which she also informed us is the tallest waterfall in the U.S. It was also the setting for the Twin Peaks television series.

We had an overall great trip to Seattle. And of course we have plenty more pictures to share so if you have time, click here to see them. We also have to mention the wonderful weather - it was in the 50's and 60's while we were there - and we started missing it as soon as we stepped on the jetway in Austin and realized it was still in the upper 80's at 10:00p.m. A big thank you to our hosts Wen-Chi and Rick! We loved catching up with you guys and were so happy that we finally got to meet Isabella. Hope to see you guys soon in Texas!

Seattle: Day 4 - Kirkland Boat Cruise

On day four of our visit, we took a boat cruise on Lake Washington. It was a two-hour tour which discussed the history of some of the suburbs around Seattle and featured gorgeous homes along the waterfront.

Bill Gates' house, or should I say compound.

Seattle: Day 3 - Downtown sightseeing

Our third day in Seattle was a jam-packed day of sightseeing in downtown Seattle...

For you Sleepless in Seattle fans, this is the restaurant where Tom Hanks and Rob Reiner eat lunch and discuss dating.

This is the area in the Pike Place Market where the fish tossing happens. While we didn't get our hands on any fish, here is Joey's first encounter with a crab.

The famous sign outside of the market.

The original Nordstrom department store.

Seattle: Day 2 - Salty's

On day 2 of our visit to Seattle, we had Sunday brunch at Salty's on Alki Beach. Wen-Chi sent us the brunch buffet menu a couple of weeks prior and this was the one thing that Brian was most looking forward to. The food was unbelievable and definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant has an amazing view of the Seattle skyline and we were fortunate to get a table right by the window.

After lunch we strolled along the water. Here is Joey posing with mommy and daddy with the Seattle skyline in the background.

Seattle: Day 1 - Getting acquainted

We've been in Seattle for the last week visiting our friends Wen-Chi, Rick and their little girl Isabella. This was our first time meeting Isabella and we were so excited to see how she and Joey would get along. Our flight to Seattle was surprisingly easy and non-eventful (let's just say the flight back was the complete opposite). Once we arrived in Seattle, we spent the first day hanging around the house and the kids spent some time getting familiar with each other...

Nothing like taking a bath together to get to know someone better, huh?

For dinner that night, we ate awesome burgers at XXX Root Beer (you'll see a recurring pattern of lots of food consumption throughout our trip). In addition to the burgers, we had fries, onion rings, root beer floats and chocolate milkshakes. And the two kids split a footlong hot dog. Yummy!

We're back!

Hey everyone! It's been a long while since our last post and surprisingly enough, our absence has actually been noticed by some. We actually had a pretty non-eventful end of April and then we were visiting friends in Seattle from May 3rd - 8th. But we are home now and of course have lots of pictures to post from our trip so stay tuned! As soon as the suitcases are emptied and the dirty laundry is in the wash, Joey and mommy will get down to business with some serious blogging!
